Your credit card transactions are secure. All online orders are encrypted and sent through our secure server, using SSL technology to prevent information from being intercepted. Confidential information such as your credit card number will be used only to fulfil your order. To protect your privacy, we will ask you to enter your credit card number and expiration date each time you place an order with us. This way, even if someone else accesses the account information stored on your computer, they won't be able to use your credit card.
When you place an order, fill out a survey or sign up for information, we ask for your name, address, telephone number, email address and so forth. Your name and address information is used solely for verifying your identity and for processing your order. We do not share, rent or barter any personal information. We will not disclose any personal information unless required by law to do so.
Information contained within general email inquiries sent to Alwyn Studio (Pty) Ltd is used solely for the purpose of responding to your inquiry. Your request for a product may be entered into a general database to help us track requests from customers. Your identity is not recorded in this database.

Returns and exchanges are accepted on unworn items within 14 days of order receipt or delivery. Discounted items are Final Sale and are not eligible for returns or exchanges.
Requests for refunds or exchanges are processed as soon as possible during normal business hours. We do not cover shipping costs on returns or exchanges at this time. Please pack items securely and ship them using an insured carrier, with the package addressed as follows:

Please note: insuring the package is at the discretion of the sender; however, Alwyn Studio (Pty) Ltd does not accept responsibility for lost, stolen, or damaged packages. Insuring your shipment provides recourse in the event that we do not receive it.
A 50% deposit confirms your order and reserves your place in our production schedule. As each piece is made specifically for you, deposits are non-refundable once production has commenced.
All items must be returned in their original condition — unworn, unaltered, unwashed, and with all tags attached. Customers will receive a full refund of the product price, less a flat return processing fee, which will be communicated at the time the return is approved. Merchandise returned without its original packaging and tags will not be refunded.
Customers will be notified by email once a return has been processed, and a credit or refund will be issued within 2–3 business days. Please note that your banking institution may require additional time to process and post the transaction.
Items discounted by 50% or more are Final Sale. These items are NOT eligible for returns or exchanges.
Alwyn Studio (Pty) Ltd ships worldwide to over 100 countries. International purchases do not include import duties and taxes — these are payable by the customer on arrival, in accordance with the regulations of the destination country. In the event that a package is undeliverable — for example, if the customer fails to collect after delivery attempts, refuses to pay applicable duties and taxes, or provides an incorrect address — and the purchase is returned to us, the customer will be responsible for all return shipping costs. Please be aware that cross-border shipments are subject to opening and inspection by customs authorities.
Nothing in this Refund Policy limits or excludes any rights you may have as a consumer under the South African Consumer Protection Act, 68 of 2008 (CPA), including your rights in respect of defective, unsafe, or non-conforming goods. Where the CPA applies, your statutory rights take precedence over the terms set out above.
Each Alwyn Studio piece is handcrafted with exceptional care and undergoes thorough quality inspection before dispatch. In the rare and unlikely event that an item arrives with a manufacturing defect, please contact us within 7 days of receipt with photographs and a description of the issue. Where a genuine defect is confirmed, Alwyn Studio (Pty) Ltd will cover the cost of return shipping and offer a repair, replacement, or full refund at the customer's preference, in line with the Consumer Protection Act.
Please note that the natural characteristics of fur, leather, and other handcrafted materials — including slight variations in colour, texture, marking, and pile direction — are inherent to the craft and are not considered defects.

How does the configuration process work?
Choose your style, length, fur, and size in the configurator, then submit your order request. The atelier reviews each request and replies within 48 hours to confirm availability and provide payment instructions. Once your 50% deposit is received, your coat enters production. You will be notified by email at each stage.
How long does production take?
Approximately 2 to 4 weeks from confirmed order and received deposit, depending on the piece. Once production is complete, the garment is inspected, prepared, and dispatched — see the Shipping policy for transit times to your region.
How does payment work?
A 50% deposit confirms your order; the remaining 50% is due once your garment is complete, before dispatch. International payments are processed via Wise, with invoicing in your local currency where possible. South African customers can pay via EFT to our local business account. See the Payment policy for full details.
What if my proportions fall outside standard sizing?
We strongly recommend completing the Height and Arm Length fields at checkout. During production, your measurements are used to generate a virtual body simulation that helps us position hems, cuffs, and proportions precisely where they should fall on your frame.
Can I collect from Alwyn Studio directly?
Yes — collection from the Alwyn Studio atelier in Wellington is available by appointment. South African customers will see this option directly in the configurator. If you are outside South Africa but would like to collect in person, please mention this in the 'Notes · Custom Requests' field when submitting your order request.
Are your coats made from real fur?
No. Every Alwyn Studio coat is crafted from high-quality faux fur. Selected styles feature genuine leather collar detailing, which is indicated in the materials description for each coat in the configurator.
How do I clean my coat?
A comprehensive care guide tailored to your garment is included in your order confirmation email. Please reach out at any time if you have specific questions about cleaning, storage, or upkeep, and we will gladly advise.
Do you offer repairs?
Yes — please get in touch and we will do our best to help. Whether we can take on a repair depends on the condition of the coat, the scope of the work required, and the materials involved. We can repair both faux fur and real fur garments. Send photos and a brief description of the issue to info@alwynstudio.com or WhatsApp +27 69 059 2904 and we will advise.
Can I supply my own fabric or request a custom design?
Yes, provided the request aligns with the general aesthetic of the brand.
For custom designs, we begin with a consultation. Based on the brief, we will work out a quote and email it through to you. Custom commissions include a bespoke design fee, and full payment is required at the time of order confirmation rather than the usual 50% deposit.
If you would like to supply your own fabric, please note that delivery must arrive within a reasonable timeframe agreed in advance. Production slots are reserved ahead of time, and significant delays to incoming fabric will push your order to the back of the queue. We also prefer working with specific types of fur and backings — we will discuss this with you during the consultation.
Do you make womenswear?
Alwyn Studio currently produces coats cut to a menswear silhouette. Anyone is welcome to order; we offer personal sizing assistance via WhatsApp to help find the right fit on any frame. A womenswear collection is planned for future seasons.

When you submit an order request through the configurator, no payment is taken. Each request is first reviewed by the atelier and we respond within 48 hours to confirm availability, walk through any details, and provide payment instructions.

Customers outside South Africa pay via Wise (formerly TransferWise), a regulated international money transfer service. Wise allows you to pay in your local currency (USD, GBP, EUR, AUD, and others) at competitive mid-market exchange rates with full transparency on any conversion fees.
Following your confirmation email, you will receive either a Wise payment link or our Wise account details. Payment can be completed in a few minutes via card or bank transfer, and funds reach us directly with full traceability.
South African customers can pay via Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) from any local bank account to our South African business bank account. Bank details are included in the order confirmation email. Please use your order reference number as the payment reference so we can match the payment to your order without delay.
The remaining 50% is due once your garment is complete, before it is dispatched. You will receive a separate notification when your piece is ready, along with payment instructions for the balance. Your order is prepared for shipping and dispatched once the balance payment has cleared.
The price displayed in the configurator includes the garment and complimentary worldwide shipping. Customs duties and taxes are not included; these are determined by the customs authority of the destination country and are payable by the customer on arrival.
Alwyn Studio (Pty) Ltd does not store or process card details directly. All international payments are handled by Wise, which is regulated by financial authorities in multiple jurisdictions. South African EFT payments are settled through standard local banking infrastructure.

Each Alwyn Studio piece is made to order and handcrafted in our atelier in Wellington, South Africa. We ship worldwide to over 100 countries.
From the time your order is confirmed and the deposit payment is received, please allow approximately 2 to 4 weeks for production, depending on the piece. Once your garment is complete, it is carefully inspected, prepared, and dispatched. You will receive an email notification when your order leaves the atelier.
Estimated transit times, once dispatched, are as follows:
South Africa — 3 to 5 working days
United Kingdom — 4 to 6 working days
Europe — 4 to 6 working days
Australia — 5 to 7 working days
United States — 10 to 14 working days
All other destinations — 7 to 14 working days
Transit times are courier estimates and do not include customs clearance, which may add additional days for international shipments.
Complimentary worldwide shipping is included on all international orders as well as domestic orders within South Africa.
For destinations outside our standard shipping regions, any additional courier surcharges or remote area fees applicable to your address will be confirmed in your order confirmation email prior to dispatch.
All international orders are dispatched via insured courier with full tracking. A tracking number will be provided by email once your order is on its way. Local South African deliveries are sent via a reputable courier service, and tracking details will be provided.
International purchases do not include import duties or taxes. These are determined by the customs authority of the destination country and are payable by the customer on arrival, in accordance with the regulations of that country. Cross-border shipments are subject to opening and inspection by customs authorities.
A signature may be required upon delivery. In the event that a package is undeliverable — for example, if the customer fails to collect after delivery attempts, refuses to pay applicable duties and taxes, or has provided an incorrect address — and the parcel is returned to us, the customer will be responsible for all return shipping costs, as well as the original outbound shipping costs, which were complimentary on the basis of successful delivery.
In the rare event that your shipment is delayed significantly beyond the estimated transit window, lost in transit, or arrives damaged, please contact us within 7 days of expected delivery. We will work directly with the courier to resolve the matter on your behalf.
